My clothing brand, Declared, dropped its new 90s inspired line today.
It’s hard shooting a spring line in the mid-february in Nebraska. Our lookbook, originally intended to be shot outside, had to be moved indoors when it started snowing outside. So we threw up a pink pastel background I had laying around the studio, and messed around after the fact in Photoshop to add some weird color-changed grainy accent to the backgrounds for a splash of extra color and a fun editorial take on 90s portrait photography. Needless to say the models were stoked to not have to brave the 17 degree weather in crop tops. Continue Reading →
I don’t spend nearly as much time practicing and furthering my Photoshop education as I’d like to. I swear I’ve been promising myself I’d sit down and watch some new tutorials and learn some new techniques for over a year now… I have no idea where the time goes. I’ve also really neglected my Wacom tablet as of late. I’ve been using a mouse for retouching for like 8 years now, so retraining myself to use a tablet has been an uphill battle I’ve been losing. I decided to shoot something exclusively for the purposes of practicing my skin retouching, and giving my tablet some loving. I tend to shoot a lot more on the fashion editorial side of things when I get to choose, and don’t really focus so much on the close us beauty shots, even though I love looking at them. My friend Alex and I messed around in the studio for an hour or so and came up with this baby.
My friend Ryan Belman and I collaborated on this Americana inspired shoot. Hair and Makeup by Mikala Jean Vandenbroucke. It was 100+ degrees outside, and my camera actually overheated at one point and we had to pause for a cool down. Summer…I’m gonna miss you.
My shoot at rosenblatt stadium, home of the college world series for decades, literally days before its demolition.

Dreamed up a shoot for this beauty with my friend Nancy Anaya (Stylist). All items used in this shoot were found thrifting or made from coffee filters and food colored water. Enjoy the BTS video. More images after the break.
This was a big moment for me…I was hired by Inspired Home to shoot my first ever print editorial. I got to work with two absolutely amazing models: Rebecca Culhane and Jasmine Fuelberth. I can’t tell you how much of a difference it makes to have talented and passionate models and team members. We got to shoot in a gorgeous Omaha home for this modern vintage inspired editorial, and I’m really happy with the final images. My favorites are below.
My friend Brian (model) and I decided to collab on an editorial project. All the items we used for this shoot we either already owned or were thrifted for a total less than $30. Full editorial after the break.
